Thank you!

We would like to thank all participants for this successful conference. We hope it has been a good opportunity to present your work, exchange opinions and to make new contacts.

Dear young chemists,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 11th JCF-Frühjahrssymposium 2009 in Essen. The annual meeting of the young chemists in Germany evolved in the past ten years to the greatest event for young chemists in Europe.

The main objective of this conference is to offer you an opportunity to present your scientific work from all areas of chemistry, to discuss it and to exchange your ideas and experience with other participants. Therefore an oral and a poster presentation are provided. The best presentations will be selected by the scientific committee and awarded. Like every year, travel grants are offered for participants from outside Germany.

We have also managed to engage outstanding scientists for three plenary lectures. In particular we are delighted to announce that Prof. Dr. Robert Huber, Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, Martinsried, (Nobel Prize for Chemistry 1988) will deliver a lecture at the Frühjahrssymposium. Prof. Dr. Michael Dröscher, Evonik Industries AG, Essen, will give a plenary lecture as a representative of industry. A further highlight will be the plenary lecture by Prof. Dr. Mario Thevis about the current topics on preventive doping research.

The program will be completed by the social events. We have organized a guided tour through Essen and we provide an excursion to the Zeche Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site.

We look forward to welcoming you to Essen and the Ruhr area,

JCF-Bochum, Dortmund, Essen-Duisburg, and Mülheim.
