Essen Main Station to Essen University

From Essen Main Station take either the underground railway U11 towards Essen Karlsplatz or U17 towards Gelsenkirchen Buerer Straße. Get out of the subway at Universität Essen and leave the station via exit Segerothstraße/Universität. On weekdays you reach the University within 5 minutes.

Different airports are situated in the Rhein-Ruhr area. Here the four main airports are quoted. For international flights it may be best to take a flight to Düsseldorf International Airport or Frankfurt Airport.

From Düsseldorf Airport direct connections are avaible by S-Bahn S1 and by Regionalexpress RE 1/RE 6 to Essen Main Station.

From Dortmund Airport take the bus 440 to Dortmund-Aplerbeck from where you take the undergound e.g. U47 to Dortmund Main Station. At Dortmund Main Station several connections to Essen are avaible by Deutsche Bahn.

Take the Autobahn A52 up to the exit "Gruga/Stadtmitte" then follow the B224 towards "Essen Zentrum" in direction to "Berliner Platz". On the left side you'll see the university.

Take the Autobahn A42 up to the exit "Essen" then follow the B224 towards "Essen Zentrum". The way to the university is marked.
